The Gene Miranda, “Falcon Invitational” Division 1 college tournament has been held continuously  for 55 years, making it one of the oldest collegiate tournaments in the country. The tournament is named after Gene Miranda, retired AF Lt. Colonel, PGA professional, Colorado Golf Hall of Fame member and 34 year Head Golf coach of the AF Falcon’s Golf team. In 1991, Eisenhower played host to the Cannon Cup, featuring the best Juniors in the country, East vs West, the field consisted of Tiger Woods, Joe Ogilive, Vicki Goetze and a host of other future tour players. In July, 2023, Eisenhower will become the first military course to host a USGA event when it hosts the USGA Girls’ Championship, marking the third time in 5 years that this event will be held on a RTJ Sr course.

Eisenhower is best known for its challenging greens, large and undulating, making misses on the wrong side of the hole, virtually impossible to get up and down. The fairways are lined with large ponderosa pines and there is no out of bounds anywhere on the course, the ever present Rocky Mountain front range offers spectacular views throughout the course. There are no homes or buildings anywhere on the course, once you tee off, it’s all golf.

Signature holes include the par 5 eleventh,  a long par 5 with water in front of the green, making it a big “risk-reward “ hole, and the par 3 seventeenth, ranging from 130 yards to 230 yards, this hole was featured in Colorado Golf’s, “Best Holes”
