Jack Borchelt, co-founder of the Robert Trent Jones Society passed away on Wednesday, November 6th. He was 83. Along with his friend, Dr. Bob Giere (deceased) of Pauma Valley Country Club (California), the two gentlemen created the Society in 2004. Jack and Bob assembled a founding group of seven RJT-designed courses to honor Mr. Jones and together they ran the organization from 2004 until retiring in 2019.

The Society was near and dear to Jack’s heart. He created the Society’s mission “to honor Robert Trent Jones Sr. and his work, to preserve the historical information and documents pertinent to the golf courses he designed and to encourage and support the education of member clubs on the design principles of his courses.” The Society he created has now stood for two decades, and with 40 member courses worldwide.
